Post Modern Green Building Design Notebook Assignment

 


A.  Using at least three different construction methods/styles
     we have discussed in class, or from your textbook,
     draw a rough sketch of a  post-modern green/sustainable design building.
     Be sure you understand the basic
     definition of a post-modern structure and sustainable/green design before you begin.

     Your design may be for any building type:
     church, restaurant, house, sports arena, school,
     shopping center, or any other structure you can imagine.

     On your sketch, be sure to label
     the three methods/ styles you are using.
     Explain how it uses green sustainable design.

     Example:

     House with porch of Ionic columns (label the columns, etc.)
     domed roof
     ferro concrete construction
     Green characteristics: concrete mix uses recycled debris from destruction sites
                                           domed roof is planted with a vegetable garden
                                           rain water is collected and used in toilets, washing machine, garden
   

  B.   Explain how your architecture/design is influenced by:
         1. the designer(you)

         2. the intended inhabitants and

         3. the surroundoung environment
